Out-of-band distortion power reduction by soft-clipping for wireless OFDMA systems

(in English) This paper proposes an adaptive control method for soft clipping which is one of effective peak power reduction methods in Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access (OFDMA) systems. The proposed method can control in-band and out-of-band distortion power according to the using rate of the system band and the required transmission quality. The out-of-band distortion power with soft clipping can be reduced by 6dB compared with hard clipping. The simulation results show that a low-distortion OFDMA transmitter can be realize with reasonable computational complexity because iterative processing is unnecessary.
