Proposal of Multi-route Transmission Scheme for Subcarrier Selection-Type CSMA/CA based Multi-hop Wireless Networks

Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) In multi-hop wireless networks using CSMA/CA protocol, wireless links under severe frequency selective fading cause the degradation in transmission performance. As one of methods to improve the performance of multi-hop wireless networks using CSMA/CA, subcarrier selection-type CSMA/CA based multi-hop wireless network system has been proposed.
In this system, based on the detection of available spot-wise subcarriers and the transmission using discrete subcarriers having good channel conditions, multiple nodes can transmit their data packets simultaneously and it enhances the efficient utilization of radio resources. However, because each wireless nodes cannot transmit and receive their data packets simultaneously, in the conventional subcarrier selection-type CSMA/CA based multi-hop wireless network system, the number of links simultaneously used for the transmission of data packets is severely limited. As a countermeasure against this problem, this paper proposes multi-route transmission scheme for subcarrier selection-type CSMA/CA based multi-hop wireless network system.
In the proposed scheme, the transmission of data packets using multiple-route from source node to destination node increases the number of links simultaneously used for transmission of data packets. Numerical results show that the transmission performance of multi-hop wireless network system can be improved by the proposed scheme.
