Feasibility study of tissue signal cancelling in ultrasound contrast imaging.

(in English) In ultrasound contrast imaging, it is important to distinguish bubble signals from tissue signals. However, second harmonic signals sometimes derive not only from bubbles but also tissues. Especially, such nonlinear propagation is not negligible when higher acoustic power is transmitted. In this paper, we conducted feasibility study on suppression of tissue signals in ultrasound contrast imaging which utilized harmonic to fundamental ratio (HFR). We had an experiment with a graphite phantom to evaluate cancellation capability of HFR. The result showed that HFR made it possible to improve tissue echo suppression comparing to the conventional 2nd harmonic imaging.
