An extension of flow admission control for reducing total call-blocking rates to mixed loss and delay system

Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) Recently, multimedia applications such as video and audio come into wide use. When heterogeneous traffic is accommodated in a network, Call Admission Control(CAC) will be required for maintaining quality of services. However, in conventional study to improve resource utilization, becaues many narrowband flows are rejected, many users cannot be satisfied. As stated above, we proposed a novel CAC strategy for maximizing total accommodated flows based on a new philosophy that heterogeneous flows should be treated equally in networks. And we presented a theoretical analysis of the model and numerical analyses that show the effectiveness of our CAC. In our previous CAC, we reject the broadband flows when total accommodated bandwidth exceed the controlled parameter. However, if we assume that broadband flow is viedo streaming, user can tolerate some waiting times before the flow is accommodated in network. In this paper, we treat the bloadband flow as delay flow with early departure, and we proposed an extended CAC which can improve the number of total accommodated flows. To achieve this CAC, we reveal some assignments of mixed loss and delay system, we present study policy.
