[Special Talk] DhaibaHand, computational modeling of human hands

(in English) DhaibaHand, a computational hand model was developed in order to assess usability of products descibed on CAD systems. Representative hand size/shape models were generated, their skeletal models were developed using medical images. Grasping and operating postures of the hand model were generated refering motion capture database, usability of the product was assessed based on the posture. Furthremore, deformation and friction of the finger was simulated using finite elemental analysis (FEA). Individual finger FEA model was generated automatically from medical images using image distortion and template model deformation. Representative finger FEA models were generated and utlized for universal design of packages.
