Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) The major problem confronting surgeons during hepatic resection, both in the past and today, has been hemorrhage control. To reduce hemorrhage during transplantation surgery, extraction of hepatic blood vessels and liver segments became essential request. That will be helpful for surgeons during transplantation planning stage. In this paper we presented an algorithm for extraction of liver segments based on portal vein, hepatic veins, and Falciform ligament. A manual segmentation of liver at case of lower right hepatic vein existence was presented as well.
