The Construction of 3D Digital Road Map using Digital Surface Models

(in English) Digital road map is an important base that used in Intelligent Transport System and Geographic Information System. However, generally existing digital maps is manually-produced, and it has problem on cost. We want to make or update digital map automatically using image processing. Previously, we used RGB aerial images to extract road area. However, such data has many troubles in rural area, at shadow, occluding of building, and delicate color difference between different areas. Because of these troubles, it is difficult to extract roads full-automatically. In this paper, Digital Surface Models is used to solve these troubles, and we construct 3D digital road map from it's feature.
