In band-limited signaling, the use of
root-Nyquist pulse-shaping filters, such as a root raised cosine
(RRC) filter, is a common premise to guarantee
no inter-symbol interference (ISI) in the output from a matched filter.
In this paper, we show that some non-root-Nyquist filter is
capable of improving error rate performance
when source symbols are correlated due to a certain reason such as
residual redundancy by incomplete source coding. |
