The purpose of this paper is to present a reduction method of the resonant current peak in a current-mode resonant converter. The proposed multi-resonant converter is composed of an additional resonant inductor and the conventional LLC+HB type resonant converter, and then it has more than three resonant frequencies. In this resonant converter, the fundamental frequency component and its third harmonic component of the resonant current are superimposed and the energy is transferred to the secondary side every switching cycle. As a result, the resonant current peak is reduced while maintaining zero-voltage-switching(ZVS) of MOSFETs in the primary side and zero-current-switching(ZCS) of diodes in the secondary side. In the experiment, the high efficiency of 94% was obtained for the input voltage of 380V and the output condition of 24V/10A. |
