A Pilot Study for Video Assignment to a 3D Sound Image using a Polyhedral Loudspeaker Array with Video Projection

(in English) We have constructed a spherical loudspeaker array that has 26 multi-channel loudspeakers on its surface and can reproduce a multi-directional sound of a single musical instrument like a guitar or a violin. In this paper, to add visual information to such a reproduced multi-directional sound, we constructed a polyhedral loudspeaker array so that the captured movie from front, back, left, right, and top side were projected on the corresponding plane of the polyhedron.
An interview survey of 7 subjects showed that the feelings of comfort and audio-visual agreement depended on the field of angle of the projected movie.
