Ranging Accuracy Assessment of Galileo Signals
Seigo Fujita, Naoki Fujii, Minoru Ito (ENRI) SANE2009-57
Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) In Europe, an original satellite navigation system named Galileo is being developed aiming at the complete operation by 2013. Galileo is being planned to have interoperability with GPS. Therefore, nearly 60 GNSS satellites become available by the combined use of GPS and Galileo, and the improvements in accuracy, availability, reliability are expected. The GIOVE-A and GIOVE-B have been launched as a test-bed satellite, and test signals are transmitted now by these satellites. In this paper, the ranging accuracy assessment of both the E1 and E5a signals transmitted by the GIOVE-A and GIOVE-B by using a EuroPak 15aT receiver made in Novatel Inc. which can receive both the GPS and Galileo signals is shown.
