A Study on Certificate Revocation of Malicious Nodes for Mobile Ad Hoc Networks

(in English) Mobile Ad Hoc NETworks (MANETs), in which nodes can freely join and move, need an abillity to protect itself against attacks launched from malicious nodes. Within the node certificate system, the most effective technique for protecting the MANETs is the prompt revocation of malicious nodes. One way of the revocationcertification of identified attackers is to collect the information about the attackers from multiple nodes and removetheir certification based on the collected information. However, it is difficult to determine whether the collected information is reliable or not. In this paper, we propose a certificate revocation scheme which can achieve high performance even in the situation with unreliable information by classifying and clustering nodes based on their reliability. We also evaluate the performance of the proposed method by using network simulator.
