This report studies estimation methods of QoE (Quality of Experience) of interactive audiovisual applications in bandwidth guaranteed IP networks for QoE monitoring and management. In order to estimate the QoE, we employ multiple regression lines which are obtained by nonlinear multiple regression analysis. As independent variables for the analysis, we employ not only controllable system-parameters including playout buffering time but also application-level QoS parameters which can be measured in real time at the receiver-side. We suppose two kinds of task: an audio-dominant task, and one whose video affects QoE more than the former. We derive two kinds of estimation equations: regression lines for each task (Method 1), and the ones for each pair of task and video encoding bit rate (Method 2). We then found that Method 2 can estimate QoE with higher accuracy than Method 1, although Method 2 may fail to obtain the regression line owing to few stimuli. |
