In this paper, we propose an efficient decoding algorithm for the LDPC codes used in ISDB-S2 (Integrated Services Digital Broadcasting via Satellite - Second Generation). The proposed decoding scheme is hardware-friendly and achieves great improvement on Bit Error Rate (BER) performance. Mathematical induction is used to theoretically verify the correctness of the algorithm. Simulation results for 11 code rates of ISDB-S2 demonstrate that the proposed method can attain a 0.2dB gain under the same BER performance, compared to the existing decoding algorithm. |
