Inconsistency Reduction on Occluding Boundary between a Real Hand and Virtual Objects in Mixed Reality.

(in English) This paper proposes a system solving the occlusion problem in Mixed Reality and a method to reduce inconsistency on occluding boundary between a real hand and virtual objects. To solve the occlusion problem in Mixed Reality, it is important to extract accurately the region of real objects in the user’s view-image. In addition, it is important that occluding boundaries between real objects and virtual objects is presented naturally. In this paper, we develop methods to estimate the depth of a region, extracted by skin-color analysis, by using a fisheye-camera and to reduce inconsistency on occluding boundary between a real hand and virtual objects.
