Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) A dual-frequency omnidirectional antenna composed by four series-fed patch arrays on a cylinder is proposed. Since this antenna uses a series-feed method, the external diameter of the antenna becomes thinner than a parallel-fed antenna. First, it is shown that the omnidirectional characteristic in a horizontal plane can be optimized in a dual-band by changing patch widths. Then, for a series-fed patch array, an equivalent circuit is derived, and the method of calculating the radiation pattern of a uniformly excited array is shown. Moreover, the realization of the proposed antenna is verified by the simulation of a 12-element array.
