This paper describes the development of Ka-band 250Wpeak/150WCW miniaturized helix traveling wave tube (TWT) for the expanding Ka-band satellite communication Market. This time, we have developed a new type of Ka-band TWT based on our existing standard Ka-band high power TWT technologies. The TWT is designed to reduce consumption power by operating with the pulsed saturated output power of 250W over 27.5 - 31.0GHz. In addition, by redesigning the each structure of Gun, RF circuit and Collector, we realized a new Ka-band 250Wpeak/150W Mini-TWT reduced volume of about 67% and weight of about 53% compared with the our existing standard TWT. |
