Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) The recent mobile communication systems which are providing multimedia services have asymmetric characteristics between downlink and uplink traffics. Since the resource allocation to uplink and downlink in the FDD systems are generally designed fixedly at the system deployment, the asymmetric traffic accommodation is difficult in the FDD systems according to the dynamics of traffic for uplink and downlink. As for the asymmetric traffic accommodation in the FDD systems, we have previously proposed the mutihop communication technique for the downlink of using the uplink frequency band. This scheme improved the downlink channel capacity, but it leads the degradation of channel quality in the uplink. To solve this problem, this paper proposes the asymmetric traffic accommodation scheme using the mutihop cooperative communication technique. From the various computer simulation results, we demonstrate that the proposed scheme could improve the uplink performance with keeping the better performance in the downlink.
