It is well-known that the abnormality of the blood viscosity causes various circulatory diseases. The blood viscometer which can measure the viscosity easily has not been developed yet. In this study, we aimed to develop the blood viscometer using the electro-magnetically spinning method, which can rotate an aluminum ball in a glass tube. For the calibration of the prototype viscometer, we calculated the shear stress over the ball by means of three-dimension fluid analysis. When we practically measured blood samples, the blood viscosity was about 5 mPa・s and showed non-Newtonian characteristics. |
