This paper proposes a new concept of ultra-high-resolution imaging radar--inverse synthetic aperture imaging LIDAR (ISAIL). Because the laser signal possesses much shorter wavelength and extremely large bandwidth than the microwave, if the laser is used as the radiant signal of inverse synthetic aperture radar (ISAR), the ultra-high range resolutions can be easily achieved due to the ultra-large bandwidth of laser signal as well as the high azimuth can be achieved according to the principle of ISAR. In this paper, the effect of optical heterodyne detection under condition of stochastic atmospheric turbulence is analyzed, and a scheme of this kind of radar is given. And then an imaging algorithm for the ISAIL system in the ideal condition is presented. Finally, the simulations show that the images achieved by the ISAIL system have much higher quality than that of the microwave ISAR system and more targets will be explored by the ISAIL system. |
