A Study of Traffic Management Scheme based on Queuing Time

(in English) Recently, broadband-rich contents such as video streaming/sharing and online gaming are generalizing widely with the broadband Internet penetration. The users are enjoying these real-time content services by making the best use of the high-speed access line. However, we think the limit has come for the conventional traffic management scheme from the point of view of latency control and buffer space for a lot of queues with the further service deployment in the future. In this paper we propose the new traffic management scheme based on queuing time and estimated queuing time which takes the place of the conventional queue-occupation based traffic management scheme. And we show the effectiveness of our proposal scheme capable of low-latency control and efficient buffer use by the performance evaluation using the network simulator.
