Two-Stage Reconfigurable Bandpass Filter using Two-Bit Variable-Length Transmission Line Resonator

(in English) Multiple frequency bands are used for present mobile communication systems. Current mobile terminals are installed with multiple radio circuits that cover the frequency bands individually and select one of them for communication. In order to make efficient use of frequency spectrum and to reduce circuit scale of terminals in the future, reconfigurable RF circuits will be necessary that are able to flexibly change many frequencies. This paper proposes two-stage reconfigurable bandpass filter using two-bit variable-length transmission line resonator. The frequency characteristics are analyzed by EM simulations. A prototype on a printed circuit board with high dielectric constant substrate has been fabricated and evaluated in 2 GHz bands. It shows good performance and the result matches well with simulated results.
