(in English) High-speed short-range file-transfer system is proposed as applications using 60-GHz millimeter-wave CMOS devices. Considering a usage model of the system, it is desirable that the handy terminal radiates parallel to the print-circuit-board (PCB). Moreover, for the low-cost mass-production it is important to make efficient use of popular materials, and to minimize the additional-process for antenna fabrication. This report proposes a low-cost lateral-radiation antenna suitable for the system and suggests experimentally the realization of the antenna. In the fabricated antenna, the length is 4.8 mm, width is 6.4 mm, and the thickness is 1.0 mm. The beam width of 120° (E-plane) and 72° (H-plane) were measured. The antenna gain of 2.2 ±0.3 dBi were measured.
