Discussions on numerical estimation of propagation constant of a microstrip line in an AR1000 substrate

(in English) Using complex relative permittivity in normal and tangential directions for the copper-clad ceramic/PTFE glass cloth laminate substrate AR-1000 measured actually and surface and interface relative conductivity of copper film by various resonator methods, we calculate propagation constants γ=α+jβ, where α is attenuation constant and β is phase constant from 1GHz to 20GHz for 50-orm microstrip line constructed on AR-1000 substrate. Additionally, we discuss on methods of numerical estimation of relative effective permittivity εeff. Finally, we verify the validity of this evaluation method by the experiments. These calculated results are calculated by electromagnetic simulator HFSS, Femtet, Sonnet em.
