Based on mass conversation law, energy conversation law and ideal gas law, a spatial 0-dimensional approach is proposed to quickly estimate the gas pressure of molded case circuit breaker (MCCB). Then to one simple arc quenching chamber model, the pressure rises variation with time have been calculated and analyzed taking into account the influence of arc current, venting size and gassing material. Especially, under the conditions of various current values, relevant experiments have been carried out to verify the validation of the calculation method through measuring the pressure rise of the central point of the arc quenching chamber. It demonstrates that the method is effective to aid the optimization design of MCCB. |
