Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) This report proposes Multipath Division turbo equalization with Block Inter-carrier interference Cancellation to suppress Inter-Symbol Interference (ISI) and Inter-Carrier Interference (ICI) caused in large delay environments. In multipath environments with delay difference greater than Guard Interval (GI) length, OFDM transmissions suffer from severe degradation due to ISI and ICI. ISI is a leak of adjacent OFDM symbols, and loss of orthogonality in the FFT window causes ICI. The proposed method exploits log likelihood ratio which is a fed back from a decoder and generates a transmitted signal replica. Using that replica, a multipath is divided into several blocks in which the maximum delay difference is limited so as not to exceed the GI length. A multipath division process eliminates a portion of desired signal alongside ISI and ICI, and residual error occurs. The proposed method avoids this error by reconstructing the lost desired signal in the frequency domain, and achieves great transmission performance. Computer simulations demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method in an environment with large delay spread channel.
