Proposal on Generation method of Reference Signal in LTE-Advanced Uplink

(in English) In LTE-Advanced UL, the discontinuous resource block(RB) allocation within a component carrier (CC) (clustered(CL) DFT-Spread(S)-OFDM) was agreed. By applying CL DFT-S-OFDM, higher average cell throughput compared to SC-FDMA can be achieved. For CL DFT-S-OFDM, demodulation reference signal should be transmitted in the same band of data transmission. Hence, discontinuous RB allocation within a CC is also necessary for RS transmission. On the other hand, as required peak rate for LTE-Advanced uplink is 500Mbps which is higher than that for LTE, it is required to transmit with wider bandwidth than that for LTE. In LTE-Advanced, carrier aggregation is applied to extend transmission bandwidth and N x DFT-S-OFDM is agreed for uplink access scheme. The CM with N x DFT-S-OFDM increases when the same RS sequence is used in multiple CCs. In this paper, we propose the generation of RS for CL DFT-S-OFDM. In terms of cubic metric (CM) and channel estimation accuracy, we show that it is suitable to map one RS sequence to DM RS resource of multiple clusters in CC. Furthermore, we propose the generation of RS for N x DFT-S-OFDM. Considering the effect of CM reduction, we show that it is suitable to utilize different sequence group(SG) or different cyclic shift(CS) sequence for each CC.
