We experimentally verified the method by which the liquid that had entered in an elongated pore with open ends could be removed out of the pore by using the acoustic radiation force. It was produced by high-intensity aerial ultrasonic waves at the frequency of 20kHz. The intensity of the ultrasonic wave was about 6 to 10kPa. By using this method, it was confirmed that the liquid which had entered in pores of 1.5mm to5.0mm in diameter and 3mm to 20mm in length could be instantaneously removed out of the pore. The behavior of the liquid irradiated with the ultrasonic wave was observed in detail by using a digital microscope with a high-speed camera. We consider the required intensity of the ultrasonic wave for removing the liquid, the required time for removing the liquid, and the quantity of liquid removed. In addition, we made the comparison between liquid removing effects obtained by using the ultrasonic wave and the high-pressure air flow, and determined the characteristics of the method for removing the liquid by irradiating the ultrasonic wave. |
