Design of Image Rejection Type of Direct Sampling Mixer

(in English) As CMOS process advances, the design of CMOS Radio Frequency Integrated Circuit (RFIC) has been examined under both low voltage and small area. Direct Sampling Mixer (DSM) has attracted much attention by using discrete-time analog filter. The conventional DSM, however, cannot eliminate image signal because the coefficients of transfer function have been composed of only real number. The proposed transfer function in this paper tackles the image rejection based on complex coefficients. Moreover, the high-order transfer function is realized by using the parallel connection of the DSM. The composition enables to set zeros in the image signal band, therefore, provides high image rejection ratio (IRR). The result clearly describes that more than 25dB of IRR and the prospect for circuit area reduction.
