A study on the capacity of downlink distributed antenna network in a frequency-selective channel

(in English) The distributed antenna network (or system) (DAN or DAS) is a promising wireless network to solve the problems arising from shadowing and path losses as well as frequency-selective fading in mobile communication systems. In a previous paper, we derived an optimal transmit diversity weight for downlink DAN diversity to maximize the channel capacity under the assumption of a single receive antenna at a mobile terminal. When the mobile terminal has multiple receive antennas, MIMO multiplexing can be used to increase the channel capacity. In this paper, we study the channel capacity of downlink DAN multiplexing in a frequency-selective channel. The capacity distribution of downlink DAN multiplexing is evaluated by Monte-Carlo numerical computation.
