Development of a Weather Visualization System and Analysis of Live E! Weather Data

(in English) Digital instrument shelters are weather monitoring units that are equipped with connectivity to the internet and measuring temperature, humidity, pressure, wind direction, wind speed, and rainfall at a lower cost. Since 2007, we have developed the Weather Visualization System that retrieves data from digital instrument shelters and shows the location icon of each sensor and each one of the icons plotted on the map is color-coded according to the local temperature, humidity, pressure, wind direction, wind speed and rainfall. We re-designed our system for higher levels of usability and to improve the problem found, applied the system to high-school and university education and evaluated usability. In this paper, we report these activities and the analysis result of the local weather from digital instrument shelters.
