Development of Seated Posture Measurement Device

(in English) We developed the Seated Posture Measurement Instrument which can measure seated posture according to ISO16840-1 standard. This is composed of main body and a pair of arms. The main body includes an acceleration sensor, a gyroscope and a microcomputer. This can measure body segments angle of gradient and rotation of a seated person. We evaluated angle detection accuracy of this and thus conclude that this instrument is of a high enough standard for daily clinical use. We also conducted a field test about visibility, operability and design involving Physical Therapist and Occupational Therapist. Feedback was overwhelmingly positive and some future tasks were found.
