Kazuyuki Itoh (Res. Inst., Nat. Rehab. Center) WIT2009-80
Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) Persons with physical disabilities (ex. cerebral palsy, muscular dystrophy, ALS patients) encounter with roughly two barrier, mobility and communication problem. They have difficulty in speaking, writing sentence, communicating with another person. Although they can use AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) device in this case, it is important to considerate how to proffer suitable communicate circumstances for them. We have to consider total daily living condition including helper and their families. And we have to develop keyboard and mouse emulator to operate personal computer by themselves to get a lot of information and take participation in society.
