Developments of heterodyne receivers with SIS (Superconductor-Insulator-Superconductor) mixers aiming to observe atmospheric minor species are introduced. The JEM/SMILES mission has succeeded in observing
stratospheric ozone-depletion molecules from space. A broad-band SIS receiver enabling measurements of broadened molecular lines at the atmospheric pressure is also being developed. |
