Fabrication and characterization of parallel-tandem dye-sensitized solar cells using low-cost mesh electrode

(in English) Tandem structures are suggested to improve the performance of dye-sensitized solar cells. We proposed a novel tandem
structure using platinum mesh electrode in 2007 and demonstrated that this structure was useful. This device consists of two photoelectrodes
and a platinum mesh electrode between them. However it is necessary to replace an expensive platinum mesh with inexpensive material such
as carbon and other metals. We fabricated devices using carbon mesh or nickel mesh. It is found that platinum can be replaced with carbon
and nickel by the increase of conductivity and the addition of catalyst, respectively.
