Development and characteristic for the next generation of light therapy equipment using UV-LED

(in English) We developed photon therapy equipment based on UV LEDs with a peak wavelength of 365 nm and FWHM of 10 nm. The equipment was composed of 16 pcs x 16 pcs (50 cm x 50 cm) of UV LEDs matrix. The feature of the system is designed to irradiate only the disease part. To evaluate the performance of the system, we measured the skin surface temperature and the body temperature of the mouse when irradiated by UV LED equipment and the conventional lamp UVA1 equipment. The mouse died because it suffered a heat stroke when irradiated by the UVA1 lamp. In comparison, the mouse survives when irradiated by UV-LED equipment. This result showed the superiority of the UV LED equipment to use in the therapy.
