A radio-frequency (RF) radiated immunity/susceptibility test method using a frequency-modulated rotating-electromagnetic field (rotating FM-EM field) is proposed. By applying the FM-EM field to equipment under test (EUT) in the RF radiated immunity/susceptibility test, the field with time-varying frequency spectra, such as a radiated emissions generated by a spread-spectrum clocking (SSC), can be experimentally simulated. Using the rotating FM-EM field, the detailed immunity/susceptibility characteristics of EUT under the above EM environment can be easily measured. In this paper, the generation method and the basic characteristic of the rotating FM-EM field are clarified. Moreover, susceptibility of a FM receiver measured by applying the rotating FM-EM field is shown as an example. |
