On Redundant Data Collecting for Energy Harvesting Sensor Networks

(in English) Energy harvesting technologies have been studied for the next generation wireless sensor networks.
The technologies can harvest electric power from ambient energy source including solar, vibration, heat and wind.
However, sensor nodes with such energy harvesting devices cannot always
communicate with other nodes because the devices supply power unstably.
In this paper, we propose a redundant data collecting protocol with parity checking.
The analysis result shows that the proposed protocol achieves higher goodput, which is the rate of unique data packets received by the sink from the source node,
comparing with a simple broadcasting method when the packet loss occurs.
