Investigation of Imitation Effect of CMAD using Ferrite Core Alley in Radiated Disturbance Measurement

(in English) In radiated disturbance measurement from EUT, it is very important to be correlated between test sites, and the method of using CMAD (Common Mode Absorbing Device) has been proposed. However, we need other devices to substitute the CMAD feature because this is expensive. In this report, we measured and analyzed the radiated electric field from imitated equipment when ferrite cores are inserted at the cable in series. Investigation results indicated that the deviation of the calculation results from the measurement results was within 4dB. In the case of the core used in this investigation, we found that more than 4 series ferrite cores could substitute the CMAD feature. Using the ferrite core array with cores, the relation between radiated field strength and the cable length was investigated. As a result, the influence of cable length was decrease when the ferrite cores were inserted near the imitated equipment. However, when the cores were inserted near the AC mains sockets on the turn table, the influence of the cable length was similar with case of not inserting ferrite cores.
