SOFC (Solid Oxide Fuel Cell) attracts attention as it is a highly effient power generation sysytem as well as low-pollution. However, phyicial deterioration is concerned in addition to chemical deterioration. This paper compares the characteristics of SOM (Self-Organizing Map) and a neighbor network analysis for damage evaluation of SOFC observed by Acoustic Emission (AE) method. The SOM is suited to capture a macro damage process from transition of frequent similar AE waves. We succeeded to specify the damage of glass seal and confirmed the brief damage process. Meanwhile, since the network analysis focuses on connection among neighbors, a relation between the whole data and AE waves which are located on boundary but cluster of tight coupling can be seen. The network analysis showed a transition point which could not be found by SOM. Such visual data mining helps to clarify fracture mechanism, and expected as a foundation for monitoring, for an efficient operation control, and for lifetime prediction by comparing accumulated databases. |
