Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) This paper presents a transmission power control (TPC) scheme based on fractional TPC for the proposed adaptive amplify-and-forward (AF)-type relaying method in the cellular uplink. Although the proposed TPC scheme require the knowledge of the average path loss information between the terminal and relay station, and that between relay and base station, it can reduce the inter-cell interference increase during the relaying since the gain of the power amplifier at the relay station is minimized in order that the received signal power of the target terminal at the base station meets the required value. From the simulation results, it is elucidated that the proposed TPC scheme can increase the cell-edge user throughput approximately twice than the case with fixed relay amplifier gain, while keeping the same average user throughput.
