(in English) This paper describes the evaluation results on the electrical characteristics of 1-3 piezocomposites comprising piezoelectric single crystal and porous polymer resin for ultrasonic transducers.
Commercially available single crystal of lead magnesium niobate - lead titanate solid solution (PMN-PT), whose electromechanical coupling factor of longitudinal mode, k33 was 90%, and porous polymer resin made from acrylonitrile copolymer were used to fabricate the piezocomposites by dice-and-fill method, in which volume % of PMN-PT was 45%. Their electromechanical coupling factor of thickness mode, kt was 88.6%, which was almost equal to k33 of monolithic PMN-PT single crystal, and their acoustic impedance was 12.9 Mrayl.
