(in English) In this paper we compared two implementations, histogram mode(hist-mode) and list-mode,of -MLEM(maximum likelihood expectation maximization) image reconstruction for Compton camera.We carried out Monte Carlo simulation for a previously reported semiconductor Compton camera to generate Compton event data.
From results of image reconstruction for a point source , the hist-mode MLEM exceled in computation time and the list-mode MLEM exceled in spatial resolution. Because image reconstruction time is proportional to number of Compton event data- , the list-mode MLEM was superior to the hist-mode MLEM in terms of spatial resolution and image reconstruction time when the number of counts was fewer than the number of bins in the hist-mode MLEM.
