(in English) Crohn's disease causes intestinal stenosis and longitudinal ulcers. Since an optical endoscopes cannot pass through intestinal stenosis in some cases, diagnosis of intestine using the endoscopes is difficult. We propose a CT image based Computer Aided Diagnosis system for Crohn's disease. The system displays the virtual unfolded (VU) view of the intestine for efficient observation of the intestinal wall. To help finding intestinal stenosis, we change the width of the VU views according to the perimeter of the intestine.We detect concave regions caused by longitudinal ulcers by a local intensity structure analysis. Evaluation results of the system using 11 cases of abdominal CT images showed that the VU views enables efficient observation of intestine with detection results of concave regions.
