Analysis of Uterine Peristalsis Using MR Images

(in English) In this paper, we propose a technique for evaluating uterine peristalsis obtained by magnetic resonance images. Uterine peristalsis is the wavelike movement of uterine muscle contractions with rhythm and direction. While evaluation of uterine peristalsis has been done, they are very subjective and no quantitative evaluation has been established. In our proposed method the peristalsis area and their intensities were calculated. Images obtained before and after an injection of an anticholinergic agent (Buscopan®) were used for the experiment. The results were compared with several expert evaluations.
