The efficiency of emissive liquid crystal display (e-LCD) consisting of RGB patterned phosphors and near-UV LED chips has been attempt. It has been found that light utilization efficiency of phosphor layers with optical filters is more than 2 times higher compared to patterned color filters of conventional LCDs. The e-LCD enables to achieve high power efficiency and wide viewing angle, while maintaining broad color reproduction range. |
