A Consideration on THP-OFDM System with No Modulo Arithmetic Device

(in English) Many types of ISI cancelers have been studied, however, because of heavy processing burden, they are mostly inappropriate to the receivers for mobile communications.
The Tomlinson-Harashima Precoding (THP) is a transmitter-based pre-equalization technique.
THP-OFDM systems seem to be adequate for mobile receivers since it can reduce the receiver's processing burden.
The defect of THP-OFDM systems is a degradation of BER performance due to the modulo arithmetic device (MAD),
essential for the THP.
In this report, we reconsider necessity of the MAD for THP-OFDM systems.
We pay attention to PAPRs (Peak to Average Power Ratio) of THP and THP-OFDM systems.
We conclude that we can reduce BERs of THP-OFDM system without MAD by 2.1dB when BER is $10^{-3}$.
We also evaluated the performance of clipped THP-OFDM system.
The performance of clipped THP-OFDM system is better than that with MAD when $E_b/N_0$ is less than 25dB.
