| (in English) | The partial depolarization caused by the scattered light due to liquid crystal layers affects the light leakage in the black state of liquid crystal displays. We clarified the result experimentally using homogeneously aligned liquid crystal cells. We demonstrated that the characteristics of light leakage in the black state depends on the aligning direction of liquid crystal layers. | |
