This paper describes evaluation results of nickel metal hydride (Ni-MH) batteries as candidates for fuel-cell/battery hybrid power supply systems. Demand fluctuation is compensated by quickly charging and discharging batteries in this system. We used demand curves of a community center and made charge/discharge power curves of Ni-MH batteries. Small types of 11-Ah Ni-MH batteries were charged and discharged following to the power curves and an optimum battery capacity for practical uses was estimated. |
