A Study on Video Transmission using Adaptive Rate Control

(in English) Real-time video transmission has been put into practical use because of the popularization of the high-speed Internet. Real-time wireless video transmission from anywhere over high-speed mobile networks is required. However it is difficult to continue stable wireless video transmission because of the instability of receiver sensitivity. In this report, we study video transmission using adaptive rate control for high-speed wireless communication. And we propose a rate control method and a video presentation method to achieve low-delay and stable video presentation even in variable transmission bandwidth. Our video presentation method presents video pictures based on timestamps using a little faster clock, and adjusts the clock counter as needed to keep low-delay presentation.
